What is Teen Patti?
The Teen Patti game is a popular card game in India. The term “teen patti” means “three cards” and the game has elements from Poker. It is sometimes referred to as flash or flush. The game, which originally originated in India, is played by thousands of players across the country and its popularity has been rising.
The game starts when one of the players deals cards to all the players in a clockwise direction. The number of cards to be used in a game is usually decided before the game begins. Each player is required to put a bet in the pot before they can pick a card. The player who wins the round gets the pot, i.e. all the money in it. aydın escort
How to play Teen Patti?
The Teen Patti game is played by 3 to 6 players with a deck of 52 cards and every player gets 3 cards, which are dealt face down. Teen Patti rules are simple: a bet amount is announced and collected from each player prior to the beginning of a game. The amount decided is the minimum amount to be put in the pot. The player with the best hand wins the game and gets the pot.
Hand Rankings in Teen Patti
Teen Patti is usually played in one of the following two ways:
- Using a standard 52-card deck. bağcılar escort
- Using a standard 52-card deck plus two Jokers.
The objective of the game is to have the best combination of 3 cards along with maximizing the pot value before the game ends. The player with the best hand, i.e. cards of the highest value, wins the game. In case of two players ending up with identical combinations, the pot gets equally divided between the two. However, if the game is suit-based, then the player with the higher suit wins even though the other player has the exact combination of cards from a lower suit. bakırköy escort
Rankings of Different Combinations
Three of a Kind (trio)
A trio consists of three cards of the same value. In three of a kind, a combination of 3 Aces has the highest value and one of 3 twos has the lowest value.
Straight Flush (pure sequence)
A straight flush consists of three consecutive cards of the same suit. balıkesir escort
The order of rankings from the highest (defined by the highest card in the sequence) to the lowest is as follows: A-2-3, A-K-Q, K-Q-J, Q-J-10, and so on down to 4-3-2. A wraparound (K-A-2) is not considered a straight flush, but is a valid flush.
Straight (sequence)
A straight has three consecutive cards but not of the same suit. It is also referred to as a round or a sequence.
The order of rankings from the highest to the lowest is (as with straight flushes) as follows: A-2-3, A-K-Q, K-Q-J, Q-J-10 and so on down to 4-3-2. As with straight flushes, K-A-2 is not a valid hand.
Flush (colour)
A flush has any 3 cards from the same suit. In case of 2 players having flushes, the one with the higher card wins. However, if the highest cards of both the players have the same value, the next cards are compared to determine which player has better cards. In the event where both players have all cards of the same value, then their hands are ranked by the suit, with spades being the highest suit and clubs being the lowest.
Pair (double)
A pair has two cards of the same rank. Between two pairs, the one with the higher value is the winner. If the pairs are of equal value, the value of the third card decides the winner. Therefore, the lowest value pair is 2-2-3 and the highest value pair is A-A-K.
No Pair (high card)
If two players have the same-value high card, the rest of the cards are compared based upon their values.
Important Terms Used in Teen Patti
